…and I come from far away…
April 17, 2008
Haven’t talked music recently, so how about I give you an MP3 and a video?
This is ‘The Race’ by Cajun Dance Party. I first played it on the show weeks ago and I can remember Producer Dave and I talking about it not being as good as Amalyse and almost, almost, dismissing it.
I have now realised that those were the actions of a moron. The Race is in fact one of the best songs I have ever heard. It sort of creeped up on me and through airplay on 6music and Xfm when I was down in Glasgow has invaded my head. Much like how 4 of the remaining 5 found out they were Cylons in Battlestar Galactica.
Anyway have a swatch at the video
The other song that has invaded my head is Frank Turner’s ‘Long Live The Queen’. Frank was gigging in Aberdeen and did a wee session for me. The song and the story behind it are really rather beautiful. You can listen to it by clicking below.

Can’t comment on Cajun Dance Party as I haven’t listened to it properly since we played it on the radio, but as for Frank Turner, I love that Long Live The Queen track he played for us.
